MetroMax i Industrial Plastic Shelving Add-On Units

MetroMax i Industrial Plastic Shelving Add-On Units are designed to expand existing MetroMax i shelving systems without requiring additional starter units. By sharing posts with an adjacent shelving unit, add-on rack sections reduce the number of posts required while creating a continuous shelving configuration.

Each add-on unit includes two posts (with adjustable leveling feet), the specified number of MetroMax i shelves (with one-piece wedge connectors), and standard stainless-steel S-Hooks (2 per shelf) for secure attachment to an adjacent unit in an end-to-end configuration. Corner (right-angle) configurations require a corner unit bracket kit (MXCNR4, MXCNR5), is required and sold separately.

Built for both dry and damp environments, each heavy-duty rack features advanced plastic shelves reinforced with Type 304 stainless steel corners and rust-proof polymer posts. MetroMax i plastic racks won’t rust, flake, or break down in wet or frequently cleaned areas and carry a lifetime warranty against rust and corrosion. Shelf mats have built-in Microban antimicrobial product protection to help keep the shelves cleaner between regular cleanings.

Add-on shelves can be positioned on 1" increments during initial setup. Each shelf includes removable mats that can be washed by hand or in a commercial washer or dish machine. Open-grid shelf mats promote airflow and light penetration. Solid shelves up to 60” in length use one-piece solid mats and provide spill containment. A solid-bottom shelf helps protect items on the bottom shelf from dirt.

End-to-end and corner configurations maintain a maximum load capacity rating of 2000 lbs. per unit (with shelf capacities of up to 1,000 lbs. for 24"-48" lengths and 750 lbs. for 54" and longer, evenly distributed).
